could have ever dreamed of, and yet we still aren’t fulfilled.

through meditation, yoga, and other wellness practices.

THE PROBLEM

We interviewed 150+ users — here’s what we learned:

Beginner meditators want to learn about meditation and require meditative instruction but…
  • 1. Retreats and local programs are expensive, short lived, and hard to evaluate

  • 2. Going to a physical zen center is too much work and can be overly spiritual

  • 3. Listening to audio recordings by yourself can feel like homework (too much discipline required)

  • 4. Listening to the same guide all the time gets boring (humans crave variety)

These pain points are especially true for beginner meditators but also exist for advanced meditators seeking to expand their practice

PROOF OF CONCEPT

We hacked together a basic MVP to test our assumptions — these were the results:

  • STRONG BUILT-IN VIRALITY:
    33%

    of users who signed up for Zen Space shared a link to social media before they even used the product

  • HIGH NET PROMOTER SCORE:
    +63

    When asked “On a scale of 1-10, how likely would you recommend Zen Space to a friend?” the average response was 8.8/10 — this is very high

  • PROFITABLE MODEL:
    $100

    of revenue was captured from a single 15 min session via post-meditation donations ($0 was spent on marketing)

NOTE: We achieved these results with volunteer meditation guides (we convinced 20+ guides to volunteer their time for free) and without spending any money on marketing or writing any code for custom features.



This only scratches the surface of what’s possible.
